Commercial forestry asset protection
- The challenge
- Trespass, poaching, theft of contractor machinery and gates left open in extreme fire seasons, across large and rugged estates.
- What we did
- Unpredictable 4WD patrols, custom covert cameras on long-range wireless links, and R&M-built security gates with automated locking.
- The outcome
- A marked drop in arson, dumping, vandalism and theft over high-risk holiday periods, better gate compliance by contractors, and video evidence that supported trespass enforcement and prosecution.
Forest access and smart permitting
- The challenge
- Safely managing hunter access across 60 hunting blocks and 45,684 hectares of plantation forest, with fire-safety tracking and fast kill returns.
- What we did
- R&M runs booking and permitting end to end, with an online booking platform, smart-lock forest gates, hunter caps per block and kill returns that take under a minute.
- The outcome
- No more crowding in popular blocks, safer hunting, vehicle audit logs at access gates, and a donation stream to the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter Trust.
